Winter Road Open to Light Traffic
The winter road via Red Lake route is now open to light traffic, SLCDS Inc. Manager Nick Day confirmed this morning. The Corporation is waiting for the okay from Deer Lake to determine when the ice is thick enough for transport trailers to safely travel on.

The winter road through Pickle Lake is not open from Sandy Lake at this time. It is not known if SLCDS Inc. will be constructing the portion between Sandy Lake and Keewaywin that links to the Pickle Lake route.
The Red Lake and Pickle Lake routes connect Sandy Lake to the winter road network in Northern Ontario.
